Kankatapalem is one of the developed and beautiful village in Guntur district. Every one will agree with this by looking at the first glance.

People: There are only a few percentages of people that had good education background in the early 70’s and 80’s. Most of the people lived on farming and Cattle while some lived on running Business like Rice Mills being one of them. The Early 90’s have changed the situation that all the Parents are supportive to their children that they realized the importance of education and struggled for getting their child educated. In 2000’s the situation has entirely changed that almost literacy rate has increased to 90% in our village. Have very good culture known for its richness.

Rama Temple: One of the old historic temple constructed by the ancestors. Also worship lord rama as our “Kuladaivam”. The Rama temple itelf has another temple within it of lord Hanuman. Its constructed in a very spacious place . The temple has special importance that it has a Tree whose Flowers are resembling that of a Shiva linga. Don’t know the logic but it’s true that it has a small bud inside it resembling Linga and a top surrounded by a flower resembling snake. Feel it’s one of the good creation of Nature.

Poleramma Temple: Poleramma is our Village Godess. It has lot of historic importance that people here pray to poleramma in order to fulfill their wishes. And we celebrate every year Poleramma Jatara or Tirunala and it’s a Feast to eyes watching the Different Roopas of godess walking in the streets of village blessing the villagers for their better living. And of course every one from different places will be coming to watch the Record Dances which are organized as part of Tirunala.

Voora Cheruvu: Also the next most important thing is the Hussain Sagar of our village which is beside rama temple. We call that Pond as “Voora cheruvu”. This is considered to be the center of our village.

Brahmmam Gari Gudi: Also a very ancient one and people has lot of belief on Lord Brahmam garu. Yearly once they will be celebrating Aradhana and they will be organizing annadanam for villagers.

Nagendra Swamy Temple: Also one of the famous and powerful god known for blessing the people what they desire. Women had lot of belief that they are blessed with Children if they pray to Lord Nagaraj. And here also for every Shivarathri there is an Annadhanam for villagers.

Mosque: There is an ancient Mosque where the Muslims offer prayers to their almighty. This is also an ancient one there for years.

Church: There is a Big church where all the Christians and the believers of Christianity offer their prayers to the Lord Jesus. This is one of the oldest one.

Library: The village has a very old library which will be consisting of Daily News papers and also weekly magazines and the members have the facility of sharing books to the readers for a very less cost.

Milk Diaries: The village is known for Cattle. Many of the people feed Cattle and we have almost four milk gathering dairies of which Sangam Dairy is the major one and next Heritage and then Dodla are some of them.
